Aan Zee which mean at the Sea in Deutch is a new restaurant along the beach path in Oostvoorne, The Netherlands. This amzing restaurant built by Emma Architects has wooden wall that rises up from the sand dunes and curls up to a watchtower. The wood is layered and in small parts mounted on the facade. It is exposed to the elements and will weather beautifully to blend into the surroundings. A glass façade ensures light and views. A third wall is concealed in the dunes and is formed by a series of buried shipping containers.

Once established, blackberry plants can grow like weeds. The best varieties require a bit of planning and preparation to get started, but avid gardeners will find the effort worthwhile at harvest time. Nothing quite matches the sweet, juicy taste of fresh blackberries.

Blackberries are best grown in areas with cool or cold winters. Planting them from seed is possible, but for a quicker harvest, most people plant bare-root plants. In the coldest areas, upright, stiff-caned varieties can be grown.

You might have fallen victim to the Squash Vine Borer, without knowing how they get inside your squash plants, or where they come from. You might not have even been aware they are there until your vines have wilted and died. The Squash Vine Borer attacks cucumbers, gourds, pumpkins, melons and both winter and summer squashes. Blue and Butternut squash seem to be the most resistant, but Hubbard squash seems to be the castle most preferred by this voracious pest.

Common rue is an herb of many connotations. It’s also known as herb of grace, or herbygrass, from its use in the early Roman Catholic Church to sprinkle holy water and wash away sins.
